I would like to thank the good people of Hordle and the general community at large for their incredible support over this matter. I am humbled and truly grateful but not surprised at your concern.

Obviously it has become a large part of my daily focus now and this is on top of running the service station to the standards and levels of service I like to give my valued customers.

Please keep spreading the word and networking as much as possible. Below are links to other disputes in various areas.

Block Vodafone Mast

by Phil on June 19, 2009

As reported on the BBC News, I recently turned down an offer from Vodafone of £4,500 to erect a mobile-phone mast on my service station forecourt. To be honest, I could not see the sense in erecting one in the centre of the village of Hordle, nor immediately adjacent to a site selling highly inflammable liquids.

You can imagine my dismay on discovering that Vodafone had subsequently sought permission to postion a mast on the pavement immediately adjacent to my site.

I attended the hearing with regard to this application and having put my reasons for the non installation of the mast, permission was refused. Naturally I thought that was the end of it.

However, an official who does not live in the village of Hordle has approved the construction overturning the decision of the New Forest District Council and the parish council. This is completely at odds with all the original arguments for the refusal of this application.

I have now endeavoured to demonstrate the appearance of the construction planned and the danger it creates for both motorists and pedestrians at a very busy junction.

What is now needed is a concerted effort by the community at large to block this. We are not alone as many people in other areas are up in arms and protesting although often too late as once the masts are erected there is little chance of them being removed.

Several links to these reports can can be found on the BBC News website.

Please help us to spread the word, if you are internet literate and use social networking sites I would really appreciate you bookmarking and ‘twittering’ we need all the help we can muster if we are to beat this.
